CBT researches, develops and processes vulcanites for innovative solutions
Volcanic rock with precisely defined properties is melted at various extremely high temperatures of around 1,700°C and extruded in the form of continuous fiber through drawing nozzles – a highly complex process that has been developed, tested and matured over decades and that had its origins in the space technology program of the former Soviet Union. Continuous fibers are highly tension-proof and temperature resistant. They also have outstanding chemical and alkali resistance, are strong insulators and are very easy to recycle.
These unique properties will soon ensure that CBT-fiber will advance to become one of the most important materials with the strongest demand on the international market.
